Sound Meter — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026 · Developer: J. Swain / 3000 Studios

Short version: Sound Meter does not collect, store, record, or transmit any personal data or audio. Everything happens live on your device.

Microphone Access

Sound Meter requests microphone permission for one purpose only: to measure the ambient sound level around you in real time. The microphone input is analyzed instantly on your device to calculate a decibel reading. Audio is never recorded to a file, never saved, never buffered to storage, and never sent off your device or to any server.

Data We Collect

None. Sound Meter has no analytics, no advertising, no accounts, no network connections, and no tracking of any kind. The app functions entirely offline.

Data Sharing

Because no data is collected, no data is shared with anyone.

Children's Privacy

Sound Meter collects no data from any user, including children, and is safe for all ages.
